Zaccor cares about the environment. In order to minimize our impact on the environment Zaccor has committed to the following practices:

AIR POLLUTION MANAGEMENT

The measures listed below are implemented to reduce air pollution:

• No idling policy for vehicles or equipment; heavy machinery standing-by while working will be throttled down to reduce emissions and conserve fuel;
• Employees are encouraged to carpool to work, especially on “Spare the Air” days. Employees are required to carpool to jobsites from our construction yard;
• Zaccor’s late model equipment meets the California Air Resources Board current In-Use Off-Road Diesel Vehicle Regulation. Zaccor maintains Tier II or equivalent powered equipment and plans on establishing a complete Tier III, or better, compliant fleet; and
• Utilization of best management practices to control fugitive dust at jobsites.

SOIL & WATER POLLUTION MANAGEMENT

To prevent soil pollution and protect our waterways from contamination Zaccor employs the following procedures:

• Handling and storing of chemicals in accordance with all applicable local, State, and Federal laws, and manufacturer’s recommendations;
• Spill containment and clean-up materials are located at every jobsite. In the event of a spill, all soil which comes in contact with a pollutant shall be disposed of in accordance with all applicable laws;
• Only well-maintained equipment will be used to perform work. Equipment maintenance will be performed at our machine shop, except in the case of a failure or breakdown; and
• Best management practices, including dust control, are used on jobsites to prevent water contamination.

DECONSTRUCTION & SALVAGE EFFORTS

Zaccor Companies has experience in the systematic disassembly of structures to aid in the recovery of valuable materials for reuse; items that cannot be reused may often qualify for recycling.  Zaccor makes every effort to divert materials from landfill which results in teh reduction of disposal volumes and transportation costs thus conserving natural resources.  Additionally all trees, shrubs and brush generated during site work is processed for recycling into nature.
