Contract Value: $1,800,000
Project Completed: 2003
This project involved the excavation and stockpiling of Class II material, transportation, and disposal. Excavating impacted soil required installation of shoring to support the building, removal of a portion of its siding and roof, and removal of its structural supports. A sheetpile shoring and whaler system was installed around the perimeter of the excavation area to achieve an excavation depth of 22'. The impacted soil was stockpiled on-site then transported to an appropriate facility. The excavation pit was was then backfilled with a blend of imported sand and iron filings. Other aspects of this project included removal and reconstruction of the storm drain system and restoration of asphalt and concrete areas.
