Zaccor Companies, Inc., established in 1983, is a multidisciplinary, licensed California General Engineering Contractor (A, C21, ASB, HAZ) providing services to both private and public sector clients, specializing in General Demolition, Marine Demolition, Deconstruction focusing on reuse and salvage, and Environmental Remediation.

Zaccor has provided emergency support operations to the United States Coast Guard, Department of Fish & Game, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and several other agencies since our inception.

Zaccor Companies has an excellent reputation recognized throughout the industry in the fields of Heavy Demolition, Marine Demolition, Environmental Remediation, and Deconstruction.  Zaccor has demolished buildings and structures up to five stories, removed warehouses up to 500,000 square feet, cleared over 1000 abandoned vessels from the Bay Area waterways, and demolished over 50 piers and wharves for various public agencies and private clients.  Our projects are primarily commercial and industrial oriented with emphasis on difficult and unusual logistics.

is up to the challenge

In 1978, Scot and Gary Zaccor went into the tree removal business. A few years later, the Alameda-based Zaccor Companies, Inc. was doing something altogether different.

"In 1984 we were awarded the demolition of an old wooden pier in Redwood City," Gary recalled. "We had never worked on water before that job. It was a significant project, and we managed to get through it. In fact, we found out we were pretty good at it and we liked it. So from that point on, we started targeting that type of work anywhere in the Bay area."

Today, Zaccor Companies, Inc. specializes in marine demolition and salvage projects, including pier and piling removal and salvage and demolition of sunken and sometimes floating vessels. In addition to the typical demolition contractor's fleet of excavators, backhoes, loaders and trucks, the company owns work boats, barges and a tugboat. The equipment allows crews to perform marine-based excavation, demolition, hazardous waste removal, salvage and emergency spill response.
